Senzo Meyiwa Murder Trial I Court hears former accused lawyer was a cop

The South African Police Service has confirmed that attorney Dominic Mjiyako, who represented accused number 2 in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, was a police officer who was dismissed in 2016.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said last night that the individual referred to is a former member of SAPS who was dismissed from the service in 2016.
This after Defence Advocate Zandile Mshololo told the court yesterday during cross-examination of lead investigator Bongani Gininda that Mjiyako worked for SAPS crime intelligence - suggesting that Ntanzi may have been set up.
