Audio Curve - Tickin' Away

Описание к видео Audio Curve - Tickin' Away

Tickin' Away is a single from Audio Curve's first album, Through the Crests and Troughs, released worldwide in 2018. Through the Crests and Troughs is a metaphor to symbolize the peaks and plights we all experience throughout our lifetimes aligned with an individualized sense of right and wrong, good and evil in a chaotic world we must all face and understand every day. It is a hybrid compilation of multiple rock stylings which cover an amazingly diverse and vast bandwidth. Ranging from hard rock gritty adrenaline driven songs to passionate melodic arrangements which will envelope you into a blanket of soulful melodic bliss. The album is reviewed and described by many to be very powerful, filling the void in today's rock music. Artwork by Mister Sam Shearon, a British dark artist from Liverpool, England. It was produced and recorded by Griffin Landa at the Establishment Recording in Des Moines, Iowa and released under BISM Records.

Through the Crests and Troughs is available worldwide on Amazon, Spotify, iTunes, CD Baby and other media outlets.

Tickin' Away is a song written by Igor Dimitrienko about his unforgettable childhood, growing up in Saint Petersburg, Russia in the late 80s and early 90s. It is a funky, yet hard impact rock song that will serve as the catalyst for Audio Curve's future recordings. It describes his experiences during the summers spent on his mother's farm down by the Gulf of Finland, near the Baltic Sea. This song symbolizes Dimitrienko's home, where he spend most of his time as a kid. It portrays him growing up in what once used to be a technology free, everyday life. The lyrics paint a scenery of a rooster and the storytelling rock near the garden by the old water well. There are mentions of his mother's house full of paraffin lamps and kerosene smells. The lyrics also touch on the memories of his grandmother who he loved dearly. This song is easily one of Dimitrienko's most important chapters and something he wanted everyone to relate to.

"Tickin’ Away is one of those songs that I love playing at every show. It reminds me of where I came from and how lucky I am to be doing what I do.” - Igor Dimitrienko

Tickin' Away

Lyrics

Gonna make it back to mama's farm
Gonna beat the sunrise
Many years across the fields
With tears in her eyes
There's a rooster there and every morning
He's crowin' out your name
Grandma sittin' by fire
Stirrin' up the flame
Hear a train comin', oh it's comin'
Shakin' up the rails
Seconds from the station
But the engine never fails
Those endless miles of roads ahead
And not a soul in sight
Only footsteps are the sounds
In the silence of the night

Chorus:

Time's always, tickin' away
Slowly but surely, tickin' away
Time's always, tickin' away
Slowly but surely, it's tickin' away

Every light is burning in that house
Ever since the day
You left the life you knew behind
With nothing more to say
The old rock is there in the garden
That story's never told
Imagination's hard to come by
Memories unfold
And the trees do whisper, oh they whisper
Lonely as they are
Leaning tall into the distance
Underneath the stars
Many mournful winters come and go
Can't seem to get a rise
Take me back to Baltic Sea
Fly me towards the skies

(Chorus)

See the beach and water must be dreaming
Standing by the gate
She wants to hold you in her arms
Before it gets too late
But the moment just before you breathe
You suddenly awake
Find it gone you just don't know
How much more you can take
Paraffin lamp is burning
Same as before
You can smell that kerosene
Pourin' through the door
And time knows no second chance
It goes on and on
That child has grown into a man
Can't believe its gone

(Chorus x2)
