Third Update on the progress of the Residential Prefab Environment Assets I've been making for a Gundam VR project I'm tinkering with for funsies, practice and portfolio content. I've finished assembling the first batch of 21 House Property Block prefabs. In addition I've also managed to come up with a pretty solid way of building the roadway systems - basically, because I'm using mostly flat colors and straight lines in the textures (due to the Cel Shading Toon art style) I'm able to basically place the unique road pieces (so curve pieces, s bend pieces, cross pieces, t-junction pieces, and end pieces) I can then place a straight road piece and then scale the piece to meet up with whatever pieces I'm connecting to and there is little to no distortion of the texture on the model. I haven't tested this outside of Blender yet, but if it works in Unity as it does in Blender then the textures should still display quite well :D

Environmental assets are optimized and made following low-poly modelling and texturing practices to go along with an overal cel-shaded toon art style to emulate the art style of the original MS: Gundam anime series. Each Residential Block Piece (each square land piece with a house, pathways, and vegetation) is between 4000 poly - 11,000 poly max (component models are made low poly so each model can incorporate several at once). Texturing is a mix between texture maps for individual models, atlas'd textures with maps for different models incorporated, and a few select tiling atlas's. Unique and Atlas textures are 4k but, since I'm using mostly flat colors and black lines on each map they are only between 50kb min - 1-2mb max.

My mobile suit and vehicle models are included for a scale reference.

Please not that this is not a commercial product being developed and is not intended for release, beyond still image and animation renders for portfolio and social media sharing purposes.
