The hope was for Drake University was that Liam Robbins was just scratching the surface. The Bulldogs had viewed him as a diamond in the rough on the recruiting trail. The Iowa native wasn't even a star in high school and went unnoticed to most college teams .Drake transfer Liam Robbins didn’t need long to make his transfer decision. The Iowa native center entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Saturday, and just a day later he committed to Minnesota, As a sophomore Robbins averaged 14.1 points and 7.1 rebounds a game, while shooting 49.9-percent from the field. His numbers improved significantly from his freshman season, where he averaged 4.1 points and 2.7 rebounds a game. Robbins was named to the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball All-Tournament Team after averaging 18 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks a game during the MVC Tournament. Robbins was ranked fifth in the nation in blocks with 2.91 per game. His 99 blocks were a school record. Robbins was named second-team all-Missouri Valley Conference as a sophomore.
