My original plan this day was to snorkel at Poipu Beach. The weather however, had other ideas. It was dark and raining when we got to Poipu Beach. Luckily, in Hawaii, there is rarely bad weather across the entire island. After looking at the forecast in a few different spots, it looked like there should be a beach on the opposite side of the island that would be sunny for most of the day. A little more than an hour later we arrived at Anini Beach.

It was hard to believe it was still the same day. Anini Beach was completely sunny and the water was pretty calm for being on the North shore during December. I've definitely experience better snorkel spots than this, but for a backup plan on rainy day it turned out pretty good. The snorkeling at Anini Beach is all shallow, which helps keep the water calmer. We saw plenty of fish, a moray eel, and got to enjoyed a mostly empty beach.
