Star Trek Text Game (Part 1/3) - Making Games By Year Episode 1

On this episode of Making Games by Year, we make the text based Star Trek game, originally written by Mike Mayfield in 1971 using the BASIC programming language. The game also spawned derivatives such as WinTrek, BSDTrek, EGATrek, and inspired later games such as Star Raiders.

In part 1, we talk about the game's history and significance. In parts 2 and 3 we talk about the development of our version of the game in more depth.
