STORYLINE:
U-S President George W. Bush announced on Tuesday his administration's decision to freeze the assets of a U-S based Islamic foundation and two other groups accused of financing the Palestinian organisation Hamas.
Bush's administration has also shut four U-S offices of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, an organisation based in Richardson, Texas.
Speaking at the White House on Tuesday, Bush said it was clear terrorists "benefit" from the Holy Land Foundation.
He said the foundation raised 13 (M) million U-S dollars last year.
But he said some of this money was used by Hamas to fund schools that indoctrinate children to become suicide bombers.
Bush said money raised is also used by Hamas to recruit suicide bombers and support their families.
The Holy Land Foundation, which calls itself the largest Muslim charity in the United States, has denied it was a front for Hamas.
This is the third time since October the U-S government has frozen assets of groups suspected of aiding terrorists.
