Trelawny’s caravan was empty. Broken glass. Scattered papers. No sign of him. So me and Charles tracked the trail—footprints, broken branches, a dropped cigar. We found two men. One talked. The other ran.

Then came the cornfield. Rows of green. Whispers in the stalks. Bounty hunters waitin’ to ambush us.

I moved quiet. Charles moved fast. We dropped ‘em one by one, then found Trelawny tied up and shaken.

He says he’s fine. I say he’s lucky. And Dutch? He says the bounty hunters are gettin’ too close.
