Fights inside and outside of Wilson Magnet High School Wednesday are prompting a new call to get to the root of the recent violence in schools.

The teacher's union is making school safety its number one priority as it begins contract negotiations with the district.

Though no one was seriously injured in Wednesday's fights, the incident is renewing concerns about school safety and what can be done about it.

The fights began inside the school and spilled outside, as school safety officers tired to calm things down.

Students were dismissed from school early, and seemed visibly shaken.
