Cheap unbranded luthier tool kit bought of Amazon or eBay, are they rubbish ?
A review of some cheap unbranded guitar service and repair tools with very mixed results.

This is a review of some of the cheap Chinese luthier tools you can buy off eBay and Amazon. They are available as small kits of guitar tools or as individual tools and are only a couple of pounds to buy, which made me suspicious. I tried the tools out and found that about half of the tools are fine and could be very useful for what they are intended for, however half of the tools are rubbish and could potentially do more harm than good to your guitar. This luthier tool set included fret pullers, string spreaders, fingerboard protectors, a fret file and a sanding block and for small repairs, setups and maintenance they could be really useful to have in your guitar tool kit.

I generally like cheap stuff, especially if it does what it says it should do, but some of these tools are absolutely no good at all and could even cause you to damage your guitar.
