If you’ve got a Ring Video Doorbell and the Ring Chime audible doorbell speaker, did you know it’s possible to set up distinct ringtones? While plenty of people are happy with the ding, dong diiing audible sound, there’s a host of additional fun or menacing sounding audible Chimes you can use. Plus there’s also holiday themed chimes too! Here’s how to change your Ring Chime sound.

The Ring Chime is a small AC-powered speaker that lets you hear the doorbell in the house when it rings, meaning you don’t need to reply on your phone, which could be on mute. Ring Chime includes a feature that allows you to select from a variety of Chime Tones from within the Ring app to alert you for both Ring and Motion Alerts.
To select your ringtones:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the three lines on the top left of the Dashboard.
Tap Devices.
Select the Chime that you want to adjust.
Tap Audio Settings.
Tap Chime Tones and you’ll see a list of tones for your Ring Chime.

There’s a few default Ring sounds—the ones we’re all used to, but there’s also everyday sounds too; a harp, a ‘flashback’, more old school ding-dong, train whistle, the old Westminster Bells or dogs barking. You can employ the turkey gobble for Thanksgiving, or choose from ‘ho ho ho’, deck the halls, sleigh bells and more Christmas-y themes.
Can I change Ring Outside sound?
For now it’s not possible to change the sound you hear on your phone, or what your visitor will hear when they press the doorbell. You can however turn off that exterior doorbell sound.
How to turn off Ring outdoor sound

Open the Ring app.
Clicking on your Ring doorbell, and going to settings.
Clicking “Device Settings”.
Clicking “General Settings”.
Drag the “Doorbell Ringer Volume” setting all the way down to 0% on the left hand side.

How to get Alexa to alert me when Ring doorbell rings

Want to get your Alexa smart speakers in on the action? Alexa devices can also announce that someone's at the door and even show you the video feed if you have an Echo Show. To get your Alexa-enabled device to alert you:

Open the Alexa app.
Go to ‘Devices’.
Click on ‘Cameras’, and select your doorbell by its name (yes, Alexa considers smart doorbells to be cameras).
Choose the gear in the top right.
Choose ‘Announcement devices’, and ensure that your echo is selected here by clicking it so that it has a check mark next to it.

Your Echo will now alert you when the doorbell is pressed.

That’s how to make your Ring Video Doorbell work harder for you.
