Orlando Florida Day 18 - Hollywood Studios & Travel Home

It’s Day 18 and time to head back to the UK – for now! The US will be our home soon, and we can’t wait for that dream to become reality. 🇺🇸✨

Our day started early with a 6 a.m. wake-up call to finish packing and get the laundry done. Staying at Reflection Villa in Highlands Reserve has been amazing, and the flexible all-day checkout made things so much easier since our flight wasn’t until 7:55 p.m.

We couldn’t leave Orlando without one last stop at Hollywood Studios! Teddy insisted on one more go on Tower of Terror, and we couldn’t say no. 🎢 We arrived just before 9 a.m., heading straight for Slinky Dog Dash with a 55-minute posted wait time (it only took 40!).

We met up with our friends, Savvas Family Travels, and together we tackled Tower of Terror with a quick 20-minute wait. Teddy’s love for this ride is unmatched – his reaction was priceless again! 😄 Bonus moment: we spotted a baby snake near the ride entrance! 🐍

Next up, Toy Story Mania! Before riding, we grabbed a Num Num cookie and some snacks – because you can’t visit Disney without indulging. The queue took about 35 minutes, but it was worth it. We pre-ordered lunch at Woody’s Lunch Box, sharing tots and cheese sauce between us.

While Teddy napped, a few of us sneaked off for one last adventure on Rise of the Resistance. It was only my second time on the ride, and it was just as incredible as I remembered – a must-do for any Disney trip!

Around 1 p.m., it was time to say goodbye to Disney. Just as we left, the heavens opened – talk about perfect timing! 🌧️

Back at the villa, we packed the final bits and headed to MCO. A quick fuel stop and we were checking in by 5:30 p.m. After grabbing food in the food court (wow, those prices! 💸), we were boarding our flight by 8 p.m. The journey home took 7 hours and 40 minutes, landing us in Heathrow by 9 a.m.

After a drive back to Essex, we were reunited with our furry friends – the best welcome home ever! 🐶💖
