The Simplicity of Living on 80%

I’ve always believed in a principle that’s simple but powerful, live on 80% of your income, save 10%, and give 10%.

If you make $50,000 a year, that means you spend $40,000 on your living expenses, give $5,000 to causes or people who need it, and save $5,000 for your future. It’s a simple formula that creates balance, responsibility, generosity, and sustainability all in one.

But here’s the problem: nobody teaches that anymore.

Instead, we live in a culture that encourages borrowing, spending, and living beyond our means. From credit cards to buy-now-pay-later apps, the system is designed to keep people chasing more, not managing what they already have.
