I wanted to play a game, so I fired up the CD-i and spun up Chaos Control.

This is my full playthrough from start to finish. Played on a Philips CDI 210, and recorded via a Retrotink 5X and RGB SCART.

The game can be played with a gamepad, mouse or trackball. The back of the disc case recommends a gamepad as the subjective "best" way to play, but i suspect a mouse would be a bit friendlier. Unfortunately I don't have a CD-i mouse so had to settle for the gamepad.

The game doesn't officially support a lightgun. Although one can technically be used, there's no way to calibrate it, so it wouldn't be a great experience.

A note on the aspect ratio - As with most games of the era, this game was made with 4:3 screens in mind. All of the cutscenes are presented in a 4:3 aspect ratio, but the playable sections are letterboxed within that frame and appear to be close to 16:10. I don't know if that was intentional, but other console ports of this game are all presented in 4:3 regardless. However, i didn't want to "correct" the aspect, so for this video I enlarged the picture to fill the vertical space without distorting it. I haven't made any other alterations.
