For more information about the powwow, visit powwow.umich.edu

Beginning in the 1970s, University of Michigan Native students and community gathered for the first Dance for Mother Earth Powwow. 50 years later, the Native American Student Association (NASA) is honored to be celebrating community, culture, and family at Skyline High School.

The Office of Multicultural Academic Initiatives (OAMI), a unit of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, partners with NASA to host this annual event. It is one of the largest powwows in the country, hosting some of North America’s greatest Native American singers, dancers, and artists.

We welcome the entire community to take part in celebrating this rich culture! This is your opportunity to witness Native dance and drum contests, purchase Native artists and craftspeople's work, and dance alongside Natives of all ages and nations.
