This time I'm building a street-legal Baja Bug from a 1967 Volkswagen beetle. Originally a 1300cc motor, wide-five swing-axle beetle the finished car will be powered by a twin port 1600 motor and feature huge off-road tyres front and rear. I bought this car two years ago from a local guy who had completed all the rust repairs needed then lost interest in it so it is a fairly easy project with all the boring bits already done. The previous owner also rebuilt the original swing-axle gearbox so I am not sure whether I will use that or convert the car to IRS.
