On August 2021 in Geneva, the Group of Governmental Experts convened for its first 2021 session from 3 -13 August. The High Representative expressed hope that the Group would be able to accomplish its mandated task of agreeing to consensus recommendations to report to the Sixth Review Conference of the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW).

“We welcome all proposals which aim to ensure that humans remain at all times in control over the use of force, in accordance with the Secretary-General’s Agenda for Disarmament”, the High Representative said in her message.
