Southern Utah - Hwy 12, the Burr Trail, Caineville & Hanksville area

These shots were taken off Hwy 12, the Burr Trail, and the land in the Caineville/Hanksville area. I think at this point it's become one of my favorites of all; sparsely populated, off the beaten path, and so incredibly other-worldly.

The shots of the Bentonite Clay hills in particular were difficult to access and find. I was determined to find a route where I could access them (relatively) easily, without getting my car stuck in sand (again). I spent countless hours prior to this trip on Google Maps researching potential roads, and a way to document this extraordinary and unique topography, over a hundred million years in the making.
