Welcome to the 30th annual Teachers of Excellence Awards Program. The Program's genesis was the product of hard work and dedication on the part of two of Pasadena Rotary's past presidents and honored members, Joe Lonergan and Al Lowe. Al had been President of the Board of Education and both men were deeply committed to recognizing teachers who achieved a level of excellence with their craft. In 1991 a committee of talented members from Pasadena Rotary, including past President Christle Balvin, was formed.

The goal of this program is to foster and encourage excellence in teaching and reward dedication to education in the Pasadena Unified School District.
Pasadena Rotary demonstrates that the community cares deeply about the quality of public schools by acknowledging exceptional teachers who deserve recognition.

The Pasadena Rotary Foundation funds yearly awards of $1,500 each to five teachers from the Pasadena Unified School District. An additional $500 is awarded to each recipient's school.

Our children and their futures are shaped and educated by innovative, hard-working, and caring teachers who have dedicated their lives to bringing
enthusiasm and expertise into the classroom each day.
