Today we are talking about the first time Gibson Nashville tried its best to create a '59 reissue. Despite their best efforts, these guitars aren't very good by "todays" reissue-standards, but they were a drastic change from the current lineup Les Paul Standard of the era. This was a great "step forward" that changed the history of the company and eventually birthed the "Les Paul Reissue" in the prehistoric era starting in 1983*

Today, you buy one of these quirky guitars for their cool look and vintage status - not necessarily because they are "accurate."
