The Ladder of Inference

"Have you ever caught yourself making up an entire story about a person or a situation and then it turned out to be a total fabrication of your mind? Well, then you’ll want to learn more about a leadership tool called the ladder of inference, which gives us insight into our patterns of thinking. Basically what is says it that we don’t see the world as it is but rather as we are conditioned to see it. As a result, we create assumptions rather than being focused on the facts. The brain responds in this way because it is accustomed to processing information in the form of patterns and it’s operating in the most efficient way possible to keep us safe.
