Tracking A Live Band With 8 Acme Audio Motown Tube Mic Pres

ABOUT THE DEMO:

The Acme Audio MTP66 is an all tube mic pre and DI inspired by the iconic Motown Guitar Amp which tracked a countless amount of hits from 1966-1972.

We wanted to put the Motown Tube DI to the test by tracking a live band in a room together just how they did it at Hitsville and United Sound. The rhythm section all set up in the live room while the vocal was in an iso booth. Every source is running direct into its own MTP66. 1 for the vocal, 1 for the guitar, 1 for the bass and 5 for the drums totaling 8 all being used at once.

The only compression you’re hearing is from turning up the Input gain on the MTP66. First we’ll have a listen to the isolated sources and then the finished track at the end.
