Gaillardia grandiflora anthers coming out in a time-lapse movie. Images taken every 5 minutes over a 3 day period and played back at 24 frames per second.
Another type of flowers that are very difficult to bloom successfully under artificial lighting, after cutting from the main plant, as they need a sustainable source of energy and a photoperiod to promote the blooming process. Flowers at quarter to middle stages of blooming do well after cutting from the main plant. These soft stemmed ones tend to move around a lot in an unpredictable manner, making the filming process difficult. Maybe next time I'll hit the right stage of blooming before plucking. All I could get this time was the anthers emerging.
