May 28, 1990 - With his team trailing 51-37 at halftime, forward Dennis Rodman collected the lion's share of his 10 offensive rebounds in the third quarter, nearly leading the Detroit Pistons to an improbably comeback win over the Chicago Bulls in Game 4 of the 1990 Eastern Conference Finals. Alas, in spite of Rodman's monstrous 20-point, 20-rebound performance, the Pistons fell short, 108-101.

With the benefit of home court advantage (the home team won each game of the series), the Pistons ultimately prevailed in seven, with Rodman collecting 13 points and 9 rebounds in the clincher. Detroit would then go on to win their second consecutive NBA title with a five-game Finals win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

The 1990 season also marked the first of Rodman's back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year awards. A portion of his emotional acceptance speech can be seen here:    • Dennis Rodman Cries After Winning Def...
