As the clock ticks toward New Year 2026, Jammu city and its surrounding districts have been placed under a maximum security alert. Acting on specific intelligence regarding potential terror threats, the Jammu & Kashmir Police, CRPF, and the Indian Army have intensified vehicle checking and area domination exercises. Nakas (checkpoints) have been established at all major entry and exit points of the city, including the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, railway stations, and bus stands.
