Colonoscopy कब और क्यों किया जाता है – Indication of Colonoscopy
Colonoscopy एक diagnostic tool है जो large intestine (colon) को अंदर से देखने के लिए किया जाता है। Dr. Jayesh Gori बताते हैं कि इसके कुछ common indications में शामिल हैं:
बार-बार होने वाला पेट दर्द या bloating
Stool में खून आना
अनexplained weight loss
Family history of colon cancer
Frequent diarrhea या constipation

Therapeutic Colonoscopy – सिर्फ diagnosis नहीं, इलाज भी होता है
Colonoscopy सिर्फ बीमारी ढूंढने तक सीमित नहीं है। कई बार इससे इलाज भी किया जाता है:
Polyps removal (जो future में कैंसर बन सकते हैं)
Bleeding control करना
Biopsy लेना suspicious lesions का
Foreign body removal

Obstructed Bowel – कब Colonoscopy मुमकिन नहीं होती
अगर किसी patient को bowel obstruction है, यानी आंतों में blockage हो चुका है, तो colonoscopy dangerous साबित हो सकती है।
क्योंकि इस procedure में हवा देकर आंत को inflate किया जाता है, obstruction की स्थिति में ये air trapped हो सकती है और intestine rupture तक हो सकता है।
Dr. Gori इसे absolute contraindication मानते हैं, और ऐसे में पहले CT या surgery के ज़रिए obstruction को treat करना ज़रूरी होता है।

Conclusion
