New & Improved | Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax | Ultimate Quik Detailer

New and improved for 2020, Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax and Ultimate Quik Detailer are both put to the test in this video to highlight their performance in the consumer auto detailing market.

Ultimate Quik Wax was applied to the right half of the test panel for the first rinse test, Ultimate Quik Detailer was applied to the left half. Two applications of both products were applied for the rinse test, the second coat was applied 4 hours after the first coat. 24 hours was given for the products to cure after the second coat prior to the first rinse.

The paint was prepped using Meguiar's M210 Ultra Pro Finishing Polish with a dual action polisher, followed up with Blackfire Paint Prep to assist in removing any polishing oils from the polishing process. After the initial rinse, the paint was washed using Meguiar's Hyper-Wash, then Poorboy's Strip Down was used to test the chemical resistance capabilities of the products.

For the application demonstration, Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax was applied as the base layer protectant to showcase how each product behaves when used as a maintenance topper for the wax.

Ultimate Quik Wax is one of my favorite maintenance toppers that I've used over the years. This is perfect for using after your regular washes in order to maintain the base layer wax/sealant/coating that you currently have on the paint. It will leave behind more protection and provide more intense water beading compared to the Ultimate Quik Detailer. It also has the ability to stack performance with a second coat applied on top, as demonstrated in the video.

Ultimate Quik Detailer is a highly lubricated spray detailer that is designed to safely remove light contamination from the paint like dust, smears, streaks, smudges, and the occasional bird bomb. It's also a very capable maintenance topper, it will wipe cleaner than the Ultimate Quik Wax and provide a slicker finish on the paint.

Both of these are safe to use on a variety of different surfaces, including paint, wheels, trim, vinyl, chrome, plastics, and glass. Be careful using anything on the front windshield of the vehicle, make sure you wipe thoroughly to avoid any visible distortions when driving at night, but I haven't had any issues with either of these products on the front glass, and regular top ups on the side glass with produce a very hydrophobic effect during maintenance washes.

The updated formulas boast even better slickness, gloss, water beading, and protection. The fragrances are some of my absolute favorites, and they're extremely easy to work with. The combination for what each of these products offers me for the price makes them some of my absolute favorites out of the many different types of spray detailers and maintenance toppers that I have on the shelf.
