I would be perfectly happy with my RØDE smartLav+ lapel microphone (link below), if it didn’t produce those static crackles in between. So when I stumbled upon the SHURE MVL, which is in the same price range of about 50 bucks, I had to get it.

After testing it I’m a bit torn. It definitely sounds different. Not better, not worse, just different. Its clip, which is an integral part of a lavalier microphone, is definitely inferior. I guess I’ll use it for a while and see if it produces static crackles too.
