Irrebula

This is Irrebula, my EP about the inner turmoil and thoughts on fame, success, and whether my insecurities will prevent me from reaching it.

1. Nova - I feel this sense of purpose. The metaphor of a forming star from a Nebula, represents me finding my true artistic identity, and reaching with ambition towards success in my musical endeavours
2. Starbirth - This cocky, hyperconfident anthem represents this persona in me which makes me feel untouchable. This song represents those times where I feel truly hopeful, unfazed by my insecurities or doubts.
3. Holo Heart - This song represents the times where I feel undesirable. The thoughts at the back of my mind, constantly. I find myself always asking, why has nobody taken romantic interest in me? Why have I never experienced the things all of my friends have? It's hard to feel confident when the world is telling you there is nothing to be proud of. The shame continues to hang over me, like it always has. This song shows the first crack in this persona.
4. Gaze at the terminal Core - About how society tells queer people they're worthless oddities, but how the queer community uplift eachother so we can prevail against the social hierarchy. We embrace out uniqueness, and so whilst we sometimes believe that it is a sign of abnormality, we sometimes find solace in the fact that we are different, because it makes us so unbelievably special.
5. Supernova - Questioning and doubts about where my career will end up. I constantly fear that I am not enough, and no matter how hard I work, I will not find success doing what I love. The song concludes with the realisation and acceptance that despite the insecurities society thrusts upon you for you to internalise, you must continue in your ambition, no matter how delusional. You have to live with the doubts and overcome them every step of the way. Queer people are here for a reason. We are subjected to alienation and ostracised for who we are, but we are also able to live in our own world, by our own design, and free ourselves from the shackles of regularity. That is why I believe I can be a star. I will make it. Watch
