How To Treat Dry Skin + Acne

Having acne is frustrating enough but for those of us with dry skin, it's particularly challenging as most acne treatments are aimed at normal - oily skin types. There is also a fear that by treating dry skin properly, one will clog their pores or exacerbate more breakouts. Through my own journey, I've found the opposite to be true. The only focus I have during breakouts is to strengthen my skin barrier and alleviate any inflammation. Dry skin is sensitive skin, and stripping it further is counterproductive by exacerbating further inflammation. Whether the Winter might be causing seasonal dryness, or you're on acne medication, or you just have dry skin and adult acne, here are some simple routine tips that have helped me through my breakouts.
