Happy New Year, dear people! Welcome to Season 8! We are so grateful to see you this year and know that your love is our strength! Do remember to share our videos and invite your network to subscribe as well. Thank you so much!
As you well know, we are consistently landing on the lines that balance science, storytelling, and emotional resonance — the exact mix that makes our content stand out.
We are not just making episodes; we are shaping conversations people are hungry for.
Our first awesome guest of the season is Nicoletta Nerangis, LMSW, Founder and Executive Director Run4Fun, a nonprofit organization advancing mental health and wellness in children and youth through the transformative power of running and play.
She created Run4Fun’s evidence-based, trauma-informed mental health and socioemotional learning (SEL) curriculum for young people, which is recognized for its innovative use of movement-based practices to support emotional regulation, mental well-being, resilience, belonging, and youth leadership. Run4Fun serves thousands of young people annually in New York City and Kefalonia, Greece, including girls, youth of color, LGBTQIA+ youth, young people with disabilities, and youth from under-resourced school communities who often face reduced access to care and disproportionate challenges to their mental health and well-being.
With over 30 years of experience as a therapist, school-based crisis counselor, music educator,
and coach, Nicoletta’s work sits at the intersection of trauma-informed care, inclusive education,
and youth development. Her approach is deeply rooted in personal story and professional practice.
Inspired by her son Panagiotis, who had anxiety around competition but loved to run, she founded Run4Fun to create joyful and healing spaces where movement and play are tools for emotional growth, belonging, and resilience. When he told her, “I’ll join, if you start it,” Run4Fun was born. Her longstanding commitment to inclusion is reflected in Run4Fun’s founding values, ensuring that all children, regardless of ability, identity, or background, can fully participate in movement-based wellness in safe, welcoming, and healing-centered spaces.
A lifelong advocate for disability inclusion and access, she also founded the Achilles Brooklyn
chapter of Achilles International. A marathon runner and trained opera singer, Nicoletta has
completed 12 marathons and often sings the national anthem before running alongside youth
and community members. She is a passionate mental health advocate, particularly for young people and women whose struggles are often unseen or misunderstood. Through her work, she lifts up the power of physical activity to support mental health and wellness and believes deeply in the brilliance of young people—their ideas, voices, and leadership can truly change the world.
Cancer Convos with Grace B. believes this is an important intervention, most importantly for adolescents and young adults (AYAs) recovering from cancer, or the ones whose parents or guardians have been impacted by the disease, to better build their mental resilience, health, and invariably, confidence. Infact, their overall health and well-being.
Nicoletta's work at Run4Fun not just aligns with our mission at Cancer Convos with Grace B., but because the intersection of sports, mental health, and women's health stigma is a conversation people aren't just having enough of.
This is a powerful episode about the intersection of movement, mental health, and the mind‑body shift.
