WHY DO I KEEP SAYING "CHURN" UGH

Got my friend's old Oculus a few days ago, and I wanted to try Assetto Corsa in VR.
It was fun, surprisingly didn't get motion sickness after launching my car 30 feet in the air and doing multiple barrel rolls.
Only issue was that the Xbox controller sucks compared to a racing wheel in terms of fine control, and this really, really shows in racing sims.
I came across a project called "SteamVR Wheel", and it creates a virtual wheel for you to use in games like this. The setup was a bit vague and took some head banging against a wall, but after 30 minutes I got it up and running.
For some reason the vJoy config doesn't save my selection of 32 buttons, which explains why I couldn't assign any of the buttons on the controllers for my shifters, which is why I was only able to try out automatic transmission.

I'm gonna take another shot at this later, tweaking some settings in Assetto to make the game run smoother in VR, increase the steering range, and figure out the button mapping issue.
