A Journey Through Power Lines and Snowflakes: Trail Running in Yaphank, Long Island

In this adventure, I set out from Port Jefferson and embarked on a unique run that took me through a blend of landscapes. The journey began on the paved Greenway trail, then transitioned into the stark, cyberpunk vibe of the power line corridor. Running beneath those towering electrical cables was an experience both ominous and intriguing.

As I ventured further, the run led me into a bucolic forest filled with winding mountain bike trails. The narrow, twisting paths kept me turning in circles, adding a sense of mystery and exploration. This was the perfect setting for a contemplative run, surrounded by nature and the quiet ambiance of the woods.

As the run progressed, snowflakes began to fall, creating a magical atmosphere—but, unfortunately, it soon turned to rain. By the time I reached Stony Brook, I was soaked and cold, seeking refuge in a 7-Eleven before heading back to Manhattan.
