How to Make a Sick Chicken Drink Water

I had a sick chicken recovering from a prolapse vent, and I didn't think she was drinking enough water. I figured out an easy way to force feed the hen water with some electrolytes to keep her hydrated.

It works well to use a little syringe dropper - that's a good way to get your chicken to drink water when they're not in the mood. Gently grab their waddle under their chin with your thumb and index finger, then you can get enough leverage to get their break open and put a few drops of water in their beak. Once the water is in their mouth/break, your hen will swallow it on her own.
