Rothenburg ob der Tauber | Germany Christmas Markets

If you're planning on traveling to Rothenburg ob der Tauber during the winter, you NEED to watch this video before you start planning. People from all over the world flock to the Rothenburg ob der Tauber Christmas Market, so these are my top tips for making the most out of your stay!

My best tips so you can get the most out of your trip:

1. If you plan to go shopping in Rothenburg, I recommend you get it done before noon. Since the Christmas Market is so famous, the area gets packed and there will be huge lines to buy what you want and also it will be more difficult to get into the shops themselves.

2. Book your accommodation WELL in advance, by September at the latest especially if you want to stay in or near the city center. When we booked in October, there were only TWO rooms left in the entire old town!

3. There is no public transportation in Rothenburg, so if you stay far from the city center you'll need to get a taxi or rent a car.

4. Book your restaurant reservations in advance as all the restaurants were fully booked by the time we arrived. Especially if you plan to eat at more traditional German restaurants and are traveling during Christmas.
