Rocket’s Dental Surgery Day | Livin’ With Troy and Aubrey

Rocket’s Dental Surgery…
6 teeth were removed, 4 crowns were placed as well as a few fillings, all while under anesthesia.
A very successful procedure, which took 3 and a half hours. For us, it felt like an eternity but we are so happy with the outcome.
So why does she need such a surgery? Brushing and caring for your teeth can be a challenge for all kids. Especially if they are super sensitive to touch. It’s pretty common for kids on the Autism Spectrum to have a sensitive mouth area. To brush Rocket’s teeth we would have to hold her down, which can be so traumatizing to do daily. So, we would end up brushing her teeth every few days.
Once rockets started her therapy, her therapist focused on desensitizing her mouth area, which you have probably seen in a few of our videos posted before. It has taken almost a year to get to where we are today. Thankfully, now we can brush her teeth twice a day, with no more resistance, no more holding her but the damage has already been done.
Cavities have already set in and once they started to become sensitive to touch, we had no other choice but to treat them. So the Doctors planned to do everything one time big time while she was under anesthesia.
Thank you to all the Doctors and staff at the Pediatric Dentistry Center Philippines here in Quezon City. If you’re looking for a dentist for your child, especially if they are on the autism spectrum, or have special needs, please look them up.
Shoutout to Dr. Jasper Tago and Dr. Geraldine Santos, thank you so much! 🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️
