Dr. John P. Cordle, Captain, USN, Ret. Following a career that included commissioning two Aircraft Carriers, USS TRUMAN and USS BUSH, and commanding two Warships, the USS OSCAR AUSTIN and USS SAN JACINTO, participating in Operational Iraqi Freedom and earning a Bronze Star. He retired as Chief of Staff for Naval Surface Forces Atlantic. A lifelong advocate of crew rest and fatigue mitigation, he has been awarded the 2010 Navy League John Paul Jones Award for Inspirational Leadership and the BUMED Epictetus Award for Innovative Leadership, as well as the Surface Navy Literary Award and U.S. Naval Institute PROCEEDINGS Author of the Year award in 2019.

Reuben Keith Green:
Reuben Keith Green is a retired Lieutenant Commander "Mustang" who served in the Navy's Atlantic Fleet from 1975-97. A former Mineman, Yeoman, Leadership Instructor, and Equal Opportunity Program Specialist, he served four consecutive sea tours as a Surface Warfare Officer after his commissioning in 1984. He was a qualified steam and gas turbine engineer officer TAO qualified in the Persian Gulf, and an executive officer in a Navy hydrofoil (PHM). He was awarded four Navy Commendation and one Navy Achievement Medals during his military career
