Acid Curds chord sequencer tutorial. Ornament and Crime. Deep tutorial with tips and tricks

Despite its name Acid Curds has nothing to do with the famous bass synth which curdles milk. Instead it is a chord sequencer app in Ornament and Crime which combines the sequencing power of Sequins with the chord generation in Harrington 1200. Instead of sequencing notes you are sequencing chord progressions. A chord progression can be programmed in manually (e.g. C-D-F-G) or you can generate chords using CV voltages. There is a lot of power in this app and if you have multiple oscillators, or a multi-voice oscillator, you'll definitely want to watch this video to learn how to use it. Just don't spill your milk...

In this video I go over how Acid Curds works, what the user interface is all about, we wire up a basic patch and then learn how the CV inputs can be used to change the chords generated. I also show you some tricks using the Keystep for converting a note into a chord from your keyboard.

What I used in this video:
- Modular Case is a 60hp 'Accra' case from Modulaire Maritime. I love the form-factor of this case. Perfect for building small focused setups to explore one or two modules. Easy to carry and take with me. Can be powered over battery too.
- ST Modular PUSH 4 step sequential switch. Great for when you want to send predictable control voltages into a patch. Ranges 5v - 10v on output
- Modulaire Maritime Decca. A gate and CV voltage source and ideal for manual control over triggers. It has 4 touch pads to generate momentary gate signals and two voltage sources you can wire to anything that needs them.
- Pamelas New Workout: clocker and modulator of all things.
- Ornament and Crime: I bought the smaller 8hp version to fit nicely into my small case
- 4ms Spherical Wavetable Navigator (SWN): oh boy this is a deep module. 6 voice wavetable synth with 6 LFOs. I'm not doing it justice in this video, just using it as a simple 3 voice oscillator.
- Befaco Outv3: modular to line level converter with headphone jack so I can jam on the go.
- Empress Effects Zoia: I patched a simple delay and reverb patch in here just to add some movement to the final sound.
