Speaker 1: Today, we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2017 Hyundai Sonata. For our Sonata, we're going to have the CURT, which is going to be up here. It's going to be a Class 1.And then right below that, we're going to have the Draw Tite, which is also going to be a Class 1 hitch. So, the first thing you'll notice is they are going to be similar, but they're going to look a little bit different. Our Draw Tite is going to have a square tube design, and it is going to sit right below the bumper, and it's going to have a loop style safety chain connection point.Whereas with the CURT, we're going to have a round crosstube and that is, again, going to sit right below the bumper. It's going to have a plate style safety chain connection point. The CURT is going to have the collar around the receiver tube, and it's just going to add to a nice, clean, finished look, whereas the Draw Tite's going to have more of clean flush cut to it.Now, CURT does recommend using a safety strap when carrying any non-trailer loads such as a bike rack or a cargo carrier. As far as installation goes, both of our hitches are going to install very similarly using very similar hardware. We are going to have to enlarge one hole in each side of our frame in order to get it in place, but it's going to use two factory holes to bolt up.Now, you'll notice that the Draw Tite's going to have this small tab here on the side.

inaudible 00:01:14 that extra tab is so that we could relocate the muffler hanger bracket so that it's not in the way of the hitch. Now, along with that, we are going to have to do some heat shield trimming underneath, whereas with the CURT, we're not going to have to worry about that.As far as weight capacity goes, both of our hitches are going to have the same rating. They're going to have a 200 pound tongue weight, which is going to be the maximum downward force at the receiver tube, as well as a 2,000 pound gross trailer weight rating. That's the amount that the hitch can pull, including the trailer, and everything we have loaded on it.Now, with those numbers in mind, you always want to double check your Sonata's owner's manual and never exceed the manufacturer's recommended towing weight. Now, with our car sitting rather low to begin with, ground clearance can be an issue. Both of our hitches are going to have relatively the same measurements as far as how low they sit to the ground, with maybe a very minimal difference just because of the collar on the CURT. And as far as how far the receiver tube is going to stick out underneath the bumper, it's going to be, again, relatively the same within at least a quarter of an inch, so, we're not gaining or losing anything with either one.If I was looking for a hitch for my Sonata, I would go with the CURT because the installation's going to be a little bit easier and I genuinely like that reinforced collar.

It's giving it a nice look to it. As far as the weight capacity, it's going to be right on par with our Draw Tite. And that'll finish up the look at the best hitch options for your Hyundai Sonata.
