First and foremost, big thanks to PNW Components for their continued support! I started riding PNW’s dropper posts, remotes, handlebars, and stems back in 2018, and now the PNW line up includes something new: APPAREL. The design philosophy appears consistent to the components, with function and price being top priorities. Even after testing gear from some well known, high-end manufacturers, I’m still quite impressed with the PNW stuff. The Shuttle short is a great set of shorts- and that right there is my single biggest complaint. I only ride with shorts about 4 months of the year. Pants, however, are my go-to for the vast majority of my rides. As shorts, the Shuttle works well. I do wish it had actual belt loops, but that matters more for PNW mud than anything else. The button waist enclosure is totally fine, but I do personally prefer a snap. That said, after sounding like a negative nancy, I will say that I really do enjoy these shorts for riding! The pockets are EXCELLENT! There are two traditional hand pockets, which are plenty deep to keep your phone from bouncing out. There are also two zippered pockets to keep your valuables safe. The Ozone jersey is my favorite piece of this gear. The poly/wool blend works really well- exceedingly comfortable, great breathability, and dries faster than true wooll. The Ozone is slightly warmer than a traditional nylon summer jersey, but for temps under 75° or so, I’ve really enjoyed it! I wear this as a shirt when I’m not even riding- it’s that good. The Lander jacket is really good, though I will say it’s not for everyone in every place. The jacket is great for us in the PNW, as the soft shell material is VERY stretchy and comfortable, and it breathes quite well. The jacket is not intended to be 100% waterproof, instead it’s a DWR coating, so it’s water resistant. This means it will need annual treatments to maintain its resistance. However, the small, packable size, the comfortable cut, and the great breathability of the material means I end up preferring this jacket over my $600 GoreTex ulta waterproof option. And I’ve also been using the Lander more than my previous favorite jacket from Endura. Call me crazy- I never thought I’d like a rain jacket that wasn’t traditionally “water proof”, but this thing has been great!
