Excited mouse "popcorning"

This behavior is normal for mice and indicates excitement. However, it can also indicate parasites if the mouse is also scratching/biting with unusual frequency and force, so keep that in mind. In this case, Jessamine (Jess) was just happy that she got a mouse-sized donut: a plain, unsweetened cheerio (her favorite treat besides the occasional mealworm). You can see her roomie, Sweetclover (Clover), in her favorite spot on top of the water bottle where she can see everything. Shortly after I took this video, Clover and Jess started grooming each other because they're BFFs.

Jess is a female champagne mouse and Clover is a female black mouse. They are both roughly 10 weeks old at the time of this video (May 13, 2017).
