INGREDIENTS:
Hog plum / Ambade – 6
salt as per taste
grated jaggery – 2 tbsp

For Coconut Curry Paste
Grated coconut – ½ coconut
Green chillies – 2
Dry coriander seeds – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Water as per requirement

For Tadka
Oil – 2 to 3 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Curry leaves
Hing – ¼ tsp

METHOD/PREPARATION
Step 1:
Wash and peel outer skin of hog plum. Add salt to taste, mix well and marinate for half an hour.

Step 2: for curry paste
In a grinder jar, add all ingredients mentioned above and grind to a fine paste.

Step 3:
In a kadai, add oil. Once oil heats. add mustard seeds once its pop up. Add curry leaves, Hing and marinated hog Plum. Mix well in tadka.
Add grind coconut paste, add water to adjust consistency of gravy. Cook on low to medium flame for 10 to 15 minutes. add jaggery and keep stirring. After 10 minutes add salt to taste and mix well. cook for 5 minutes more. Switch off the gas once ambade properly book and gravy become little thick.

Enjoy lunch with steamed rice, bhaji, papad and pickle.
