Part 1: Dr. Elka Walsh - Transformative Technologies for more Human-Centered Education Systems

With us today, we have Dr. Elka Walsh

A leader in education with over 20 years of experience ranging from executive positions at colleges and polytechnics in Canada, to Chief Education and Learning Officer at one of Canada’s largest science centers and now as Associate Vice President, Learning & Teaching, at Microsoft Canada.

Dr. Walsh serves as a member of the Board for Learning Disabilities Association of Alberta and holds a PhD from McMaster University. She is most excited about making learning experiences human centered and inclusive for all. Having worked for decades to empower schools, colleges, universities and corporations to amplify their impact and achieve more student success with innovative education strategies, Dr. Walsh seeks to produce tangible impacts through thoughtful learning design and purposeful quality assurance.

Leading Microsoft’s pan-Canadian education and skills strategy, Elka prepares students to thrive in the digital future, helping to ensure that the next generation workforce have the skills they need to be successful in the future, and that educational institutions have what they need to create innovative new learning opportunities that will ultimately lead to that critical skill development for students.
