Doing art studies is one the best ways to improve and experiment/work out of your comfort zone! The key is to let go of that perfectionism (the urge to make your study look as pretty as possible) and focus on learning and trying new things. My tip for this is to do timed studies. This forces you to accept the reality of the learning process, and makes you focus on the topic at hand instead of getting carried away with details wnd perfectionism. And usually after the first 5’ sketch, you’ll already learn something (like oh maybe i can try doing it this way next sketch, it might work better) and move on to the next study. Of course the first time you try something new, like a new technique or new skill, you wont master it straight away! It takes time and practice just like all the other skills you have accumulated so far! Its easy to stay in your comfort zone by drawings things/ process you’re familiar with, but you can expand that comfort zone and learn new techniques/skills! So good luck with your studies and start practicing!
