Any one or more of the following could indicate it's time to take a new look at your credit card processing fees and get some new quotes which could save you hundreds or THOUSANDS per year.

1. Do you accept DISCOVER? When Discover first emerged in the market, it WAS a bit more to process Discover transactions. Many merchants opted not to accept Discover for that reason. Now, accepting Discover is no different than accepting Visa or Mastercard. If your current provider has NOT brought you up to speed with that information, it's a good indication they don't want you looking at your rates because you're probably way over-paying for ALL your fees.

2. Been with your current provider 4 years or more? If yes, you should consider getting a fresh quote. As with almost every business and industry, competition drives down prices. Your current provider will very seldom volunteer lower rates.

3. Is your bank your merchant services provider? Your bank is really not a merchant services provider but rather a reseller. That means they're putting on another layer of fees so they can make a profit.

Don't give up your profits. A savings of just 1% can keep hundreds or even thousands of dollars in your business (or your pocket) annually.
