#Fagradalsfjall

I climbed the volcano twice on this day. You can see how much the volcano changes in just 6 to 10 hours span. All to footage is in chronological order. This is deliberately a long cut of this day with extended views into the boiling crater. Activity fluctuates over 5 to 10 minutes spans and I wanted to capture that variation. The (coming soon) narrated version will have observations and explanations and talk on being safe in an intrinsically unsafe environment.

This was my final day on the volcano and it had changed a lot the previous day and overnight. Truly, it was a different volcano every day. But on this day, the existing route to the viewing area had been severed by running lava. Periodic eruptions gave way to a much more continuous flow.

The first block of footage runs from about 12:30 PM local to 2 PM. I sat in the parking lot and had the amazing fish and chips from vendor at the trailhead while my batteries recharged. The construction equipment footage was shot while coming down and returning for the next session. The remaining footage is from 8 PM to 10 PM. The closing (lowest light) footage of the lava river just blows me away in 4K.

Equipment
DJI Air 2S
Canon Vixia HF G50
GoPro Hero 5 Black
Feiyu G5 Handheld Gimbal for GoPro
