I heard this song recently and after my sister and I started to re-watch TWD (because I stopped watching basically after Beth and Glenn got axed) since it ended. I'm watching and It's already gutted me more than It did before.

I'm still a huge fan of this concept, and it's kind of interesting to look back and see how much she influenced him, and things kind of parallel. I've seen some spoilers obviously because it's the internet. I was really shocked to see that they had made paintings of maggie's deceased loved ones and then of course Daryl got a dog named dog, and that's literally what led to him and beth getting split up. I also got spoiled and saw the spoiler of Rick's hallucination a while back, and just the fact that they put Beth's dead body right after Daryl's (no editing needed on my part) made me just super sad. Especially because his arm is reached out in her direction. I think she was a huge reason as to why he was cool with staying in Alexandria, and especially the similarities to how she thought and what Aaron was speaking about. It's the place she would have wanted to be.

There are also just so many unused scenes that wouldn't fit into such a short song? He's wearing her shoelaces and him trying to keep the barn doors shut during his depression era since he opened the doors at the funeral home. It was a nice callback. Just the whole thing had me all sad again and I'm just in my feels with this sadness. I thrive on sad ships that had all the potential in the world, but instead just burned down by the writers.
