Malaysia - Ipoh - our impression (August 2024)

In Ipoh, we stayed in a great guesthouse Ninety Guest House and Coffee Bar. Perfect room, super friendly staff, great food, good neighborhood, and nice atmosphere.
Besides all the food tasting, we visited the Sam Poh Tong temple, the biggest cave temple in Malaysia. The temple features an array of majestic Buddha statues and has a beautiful garden. Next door is The Perak Tong Cave Temple, that has an iconic golden statue of the Buddha that is 40 feet high and is surrounded by four other guardian deities, who are fondly known to be goddesses.
While we always have fun and enjoy our traveling, we will mainly remember Ipoh for the delicious food and the great little hotel/guesthouse that we stayed in. The city itself not so much and neither the Temples (unless you are really into Temples I guess) and the Mirror Lake ‘tourist trap’. Overall though, we had a great time in Ipoh
