In today's video we take some scrap wood and turn it into a pretty sharp looking (fruit?) bowl. Just about 100% of the wood for this project was leftover walnut, cherry, hickory, red oak, white oak and some ash hardwoods. Pieces were glued together in roughly 12-inch squares (about 30cm). Then each layer was rotated 90degrees and glued up again to a block of about 12x12inches (or 30x30cm). The block was mounted to the lathe on its corner axis. This is usually the method to make a three sided bowl (as shown in this video:    • Woodturning - Three sided bowl   ) , but after seeing how the grain looked within this glue-up I decided to just make a standard looking bowl.
