This video documents an interaction between myself, private security staff, and police officers at a Jobcentre. I was lawfully recording using a helmet camera when security staff approached me aggressively, surrounded me, and attempted to interfere with my recording equipment. Despite remaining seated and non-violent throughout the encounter, I was accused by three security guards of using abusive language, an allegation that I strongly deny.

Police officers attended and relied solely on the verbal allegations of the security staff without reviewing readily available evidence, including CCTV and my own camera footage. I repeatedly offered to show this evidence, which clearly demonstrates the behaviour of the security staff, including verbal abuse directed at me and a physical incident where one guard struck my forehead with a phone.

Despite the lack of evidence against me, my personal details were demanded under threat of arrest. I complied under duress, making it clear that I believed this to be an unlawful interference with my right to privacy. I was then ordered to leave the premises under the pretext of preventing a breach of the peace, despite there being no violence or threat of violence on my part.

I formally reported the conduct of the security staff, including verbal abuse, physical contact, intimidation, and attempts to disable my camera. This video raises serious concerns about proportionality, police decision-making, failure to review evidence, and the acceptance of unverified allegations over recorded facts.

All footage has been preserved and will be used to support formal complaints and legal proceedings where necessary. This video is shared in the public interest to highlight issues of accountability, transparency, and civil liberties.
